Affiliate Marketing Is A Great Way to Make Money
Affiliate marketing is basically a way for people to make money on a program that someone else builds, manages, and maintains. This means that someone else builds the website, sets up the affiliate program, handles all customer service related items, updates the website, handles all fees associated with this site, and they pays people to market their site and products.
When you are an affiliate marketer you market and advertise programs and products that others own and you get paid a percentage from each sale that you make.
Now you may wonder why people would do this. Well the answer is simple. People do this because it’s easier to sell someone else’s items than it is to come up with their own and manage it.
People have been known to make thousands of dollars a month off of other peoples products. Wouldn’t that be great? You bet it would and all you have to do is take time each day to market these products and watch the money roll in.
So, how do you find products to market? Well there are a number of ways to do this. You can join commissionjunction.com and market any of the products they offer. Commission Junction is an affiliate marketing company that other businesses use so they don’t have to handle the affiliate program themselves. Commission Junction handles affiliate programs for businesses such as Godaddy.com and VistaPrint.com. Another marketing company you can join is ClickBank.com. They have literally thousands of programs you can join as well.
When you join Commission Junction or ClickBank you receive payment from them directly rather than the company you are marketing. This means you will receive one payment for all the company’s you are marketing for rather than a payment from each of them. Both of the programs offer tools you can use for tracking sales so you will be able to see which ones are making you the most money.
Now the downside to Commission Junction and ClickBank is that you have to wait until you hit a certain amount of money before they pay out. When you go with an individual program you will receive a payment once a month regardless of the amount of money you have made.
I feel you are given more items to use in your marketing campaigns and you are given more customer service from individual companies. But, you have more options as far as products and companies to market through Commission Junction and ClickBank. It’s hard to say what the best way to go is, so you will need to look at all options. There is nothing saying you can’t use Commission Junction, ClickBank, and other companies for affiliate marketing.
Advertising your affiliate marketing links is done the same way. You can use text ads with your affiliate links, you can create blog posts with your affiliate links, and you can use buttons and banners that are linked to your affiliate sites. You will need to decide what will work best for you and how much money you want to spend. Some can be done for free while others will have a cost involved.
Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money and not do anything but advertise the products that you are set up to advertise. There are thousands of programs you can advertise as an affiliate. Ask around and search online for the programs that are right for you.

My dh was looking into this too. We had some trouble with affiliate programs so for now we are offering an unofficial official affiliate program but only to folks we know. I have one Canadian affiliate that has made a tidy sum referring to just one co op!
