A Perfect Fall Day
I know that many areas around the country have had cooler temperatures for a couple of weeks now, but this past weekend was the first cool snap for Floridians. We had perfect Fall temperatures both Saturday and Sunday. Highs in the 60’s, lows in the 50’s. I love the first cold snap of the season. It makes me feel so full of energy, so full of optimism, and anticipation for the upcoming Holiday season. My children were even feeling the effects. It has been a long time since my teenage daughter has spent quality time with her 2 younger brothers. Especially this kind of quality time – playing at the park – like they did when they were little.

And, yes, I know my daughter has on shorts, even though it’s cool. Did I mention she is 14 and thinks she knows everything? She just knew she wouldn’t be cold at the park. Guess what? She was.
After the park, we went home and baked this so cute, absolutely delicious pumpkin cake:
Pretend you don’t see there is a slice already missing – my son couldn’t wait to try it. You can find the recipe for the cake at www.duncanhines.com. I highly recommend it. Easy and delicious!
We rounded out our family day with a walk around a lake by our house. These sweet little ducks were swimming around –
Our walk was over soon after when my son almost stepped on a snake. You can see the slimy thing in this video – well, kind of, you have to look quick in the lower right of the screen. Once my son saw it, he didn’t hang around to get a better picture of that black “eraser” snake. LOL
